ANA Agency Membership Criteria

Agency members must:

  • Maintain business registration for duration of membership period. Should business registration lapse or be cancelled at any time, membership with ANA will also be cancelled.
  • Be an operating entity currently servicing Families and Nannies.
  • Have public information available for Families and Nannies to access regarding operational procedures, terms and conditions, fees and services provided.
  • Ensure all carers under the direction of the agency maintain:
    • Current Working with Children Check.
    • Current Level 2 first aid qualification (HLTAID003/HLTFA311A/HLTFA301C).
    • Current CPR qualification (HLTAID001/HLTCPR201B/HLTCPR211A) and update annually.
  • Conduct a minimum of two reference checks on their registered and/or potential nannies/mannies. These reference checks must relate to recent work within the childcare industry, and may include a professional or personal reference should the applicant be unable to provide a secondary recent childcare related reference.
  • Discuss with all applicants their suitability and applicable policies and procedures of the said agency through either a face to face or verbal discussion. No carers are to be admitted to the agency upon the basis of a written application only.
  • Ensure all carers are a minimum 18 years of age.
  • Ensure all Nannies been informed of all legal rights and employment obligations.
  • Maintain annual public liability insurance.
  • Agencies are aware that annual audits will be performed by the ANA to ensure compliance to the terms of membership.
  • Support and uphold the ANA Facebook Code of Conduct and ANA Constitution at all times (evident through their own code of conduct and public appearance).
  • Agencies engaging staff must be engaged meeting the National Employment Standards(Federal minimum wage) or using a nationally recognised and approved award or enterprise agreement.

Additional criteria

Where only some of the franchises or branches become members, then the following benefits will not apply.

AGENCY OBLIGATIONS

  • Agencies show their commitment to providing quality screening processes for candidates and families, and ethical practices in referral of candidates to families.
  • ANA agency members show ongoing commitment to quality care for families and quality practice from their carers.
  • ANA membership also shows support for the industry by maintaining high standards and striving for the recognition of nannies and mannies as a legitimate child care option.

LOYALTY TO THE ASSOCIATION

  • Members shall not publicly criticise the association nor allow or encourage a third party to do so.
  • Members shall not make false accusations or insinuations about the association its members or committee.
  • Members shall respect and uphold high standards and maintain public confidence in the nanny profession by not engaging in any act or omission likely to damage its reputation or interests.
  • If you are applying for membership you need to understand and agree membership to the ANA consist of Nannies, Agencies, Families and supporters of the ANA.

ANA AGENCY MEMBER CODE OF CONDUCT

This code of conduct outlines the expectations that the ANA has of its members, who must agree to the code of conduct at the time of application.

Agency members will:

  • Maintain compliance with ANA membership criteria, and provide evidence of compliance when requested by the ANA committee in the case of a random audit.
  • Adhere to this code of conduct.
  • Adhere to the ANA Facebook group code of conduct.
  • Comply with relevant state laws and regulations in relation to professional nanny placement agencies.
  • Hold public liability insurance.
  • Present themselves in a professional manner and treat industry colleagues and clients respectfully.
  • Conduct appropriate screening of applicants and ensure all relevant checks are in order before offering work to applicants.

Ensure all carers under the direction of the agency maintain:

  • Current working with children check (or state / territory equivalent).
  • Current Level 2 First Aid qualification (Codes: HLTAID003, HTLAID004).
  • Current CPR qualification (HLTAID001), updated annually. Loyalty to the Association
