Karyn Johns is a Speech Language Pathologist who has worked with children and families since 1989 both interstate and on the Gold Coast. She has experience working for a number of health and education agencies and private schools. Since 2007 she has been a co-Director of SPEECH Pty Ltd which has been a successful growing private practice at the Northern end of the Gold Coast.
Karyn is passionate about sharing information and strategies with families, teachers and early childhood professionals that will support language, literacy and social skills development. Karyn has presented at many conferences and conducts workshops regularly for centres, schools and parents. She has an interest in community development and working in partnership to build capacity in the community to deliver quality activities/services that support children and families. This has led to the development of a number of successful community programs including Read and Grow and the implementation of the Pop and Top communication groups as part of the Communities for Children initiative.
